This IP First Response website has been designed to help IP rights holders navigate IP infringement and enforcement by making it visible, accessible, and to provide information about the factors involved in pursuing different options. It does not provide legal, business or other professional advice, and none of the content should be regarded as recommending a specific course of action. We welcome any feedback via our IP First Response feedback form and by emailing us.

The Attorney General’s Department is responsible for managing the Copyright Act 1968 and the development of Australian copyright policy.

If you believe that your copyright has been infringed, you may wish to seek legal advice in relation to your particular circumstances. While the Attorney-General’s Department is unable to provide legal advice, the department’s website contains general information on copyright that may be of assistance.

This tool is currently in early-stage development and testing, aimed at determining its usefulness to rights holders like you. We invite you to provide feedback about this navigator tool, IP First Response, and your experience enforcing your IP through our IP First Response feedback form   and IPFirstResponse@IPAustralia.gov.au.
